Lake Lauzon is twenty miles in length, yet rarely exceeds a half mile in width.
After an excellent dinner in Blind River with Lake Lauzon in the background we continued our homeward bound trip easterly. Some twenty miles later we spotted the Lake Lauzon Resort. A stop was necessary to question our minds. Same lake, but never seen it since Blind River.
Booked the night at the B&B and had an exceptional stay, a Finnish Sauna, terrific Sunset and another place to return to. PS. Had a fabulous breakfast!
The Scarborough Bluff's are unusual as they are located on the shores of Lake Ontario. They are quite different from the normal landscape.
After viewing the Cliffs we walked back along the Lake Ontario shoreline and were blocked by the Canadian Geese! A slight detour let us finish the excursion at a good restaurant at the Marina harbor.
The Robertson Cliffs have excellent trails, yet for a unique experience, visit the Falls on the opposite side of the trail head. Unmarked trail on the north side of parking lot but you should be able to hear the falls. Near Harmony Beach. Click Picture to enlarge
The Story behind the picture A very difficult hike across from the trail head where one has to decend a 250 foot drop to the Robertson river. It is not just the drop as it is quite a steep incline. Once there the beauty of the falls and surrounding sights make up for that descent, however, one must get back up the gorge.
Fall in the Sault Ste Marie area is one of spectacular colors. Leaves begin to change colors mid September. The Agawa train that leaves Sault Ste Marie travels daily through the hardwood forests to entertain customers from all locations in the world.
The Story behind the pictures Almost yearly a mini vacation is taken to experience one of nature`s wonderful gifts. With Lake Superior nearby this area has an abundance of exceptional scenic qualities.
John`s Comments
The beautiful colors of the fall hardwood trees have no borders and this is one
that requires sharing. There is some beautiful natural scenery in the area and that includes
driving along the Lake Superior shore.
John`s Recollections
The drive north of Sault St. Marie to Searchmont could almost be considered a perfect road trip.
Fall colors are miraculous and it is easy to see why many travel to Sault Ste Marie
and take the fall folliage train ride during mid September to mid October.
One of the most visited sites in North America, and with good reason. A natural wonder shared by two countries, Canada & the US, which has many distinctive viewpoints and nearby attractions.
Click Picture for Video Clip The Story behind the picture Hard not to include this as a favorite location to visit. Shared by two countries with many common desires. The water flowing over these falls is impossible to fully estimate in one`s mind, however the sight is beyond compare. The "Maid in the Mist" at times actually disappears from sight as it moves closer to the base and rainbows caused from the water flow are regular in appearance.
One very large island in Lake Huron with it's own lakes. Fishing expeditions are prominent and usually the results are quite successful.

In the midst of Ontario forest country stands a lodge built to house many amenities yet still feel amongst nature itself. Bring your fishing rod if you are fortunate enough to visit.
