The colors are one of the most amazing features here. It is also rather warm, and not too many people actually live in the area. Driving accross the flats will provide you with a true feeling of a desert landscape without the sand dunes.

The Story behind the picture

This one pictures brings back the memories of such a great drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles along the coastal highway. Such great scenery, at times rocky and dangerous, then at other times with peaceful beaches. Early morning mist highlighted much of the trip and provided for memorable views. I truly recommend  such a drive if the opportunity arises, however it is not to be rushed or memories will be lost.
