Long Island Drive - Bahamas Out Islands

Of the many scenic stops while driving the length of Long Island, some of the most memorable are those of the unique churches along the way. Most are painted in light island colors but the unique architecture stands out above all. Several small business locations along the way but for the most part the population is sparse.

John`s Comments
Great scenes and churches that are very colorful and distinct. Take your time if you are driving and don't be afraid to stop at the highlights along the way. People are very friendly and co-operative. This was a day trip from the Stella Maris Lodge but worthwhile if one wants to see some of the islands other attractions. The main tourist attraction here however is the excellent fishing and diving sites that you can participate in.

John`s Recollections
Pleasurable drive, stopped several times ( lunch & beer ) and even picked up a hitch-hiker. Churches were built with architecture that is quite different and the grounds and buildings were immaculate.
